Keith Clanton: „A fost un sezon OK pentru noi. Am simțit că putea să fie mai bun pentru echipa noastră!”

Keith, how did you start to play basketball? Did you try another sports?

I started to play basketball when I was 10 and I also played American football and also volleyball.

When it became clear to you that you can play basketball at professional level?

I felt like my whole life I could play professional basketball because I knew that’s what I wanted to do in my life so I never doubted myself.

How was the 2019/20 season from your point of view?

My view on this season was a OK season. I felt it could have been better for us and would like to see how we could have finished the season in playoffs.

How did you feel at Steaua Bucharest?

Steaua is a great organization and I loved playing for the team. We had a great coach. A great GM. And great teammates.

What did you find interesting in the Romanian basketball?

I think Romania basketball is good. Doesn’t get the full credit it deserves.

How do you see the youngers? What about U23 rule?

I like the U23 rule because it gives the young players chances to play and that helps develop them.

List us some players that impressed you in Romania.

Some of the players I really like in Romania are the imports from Cluj and Oradea. I think some of the best Romania were honestly my teammates.

Who were your best teammates in Steaua?

My best teammate at Steaua was Will Davis. I was with him everyday and we bonded really quick.

You was the best rebounder in the league. What can you say about your skill to rebound the ball?

I think my skill of rebounding the ball is good just playing many years so I know how to good positioning to grab the ball.

You played professional basketball in Poland, Korea, Puerto Rico, Israel, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania. List us the best memories of your career.

Some of my best memories of my career is really just winning because that’s the most important thing so it will have to be win I won the championship in Bulgaria.

Would you like to come back in Romania?

I would love to come back to Romania and play if the opportunity present itself.

How are you coping with this coronavirus pandemic? What is your daily routine and what is your message to Romanians during this social distancing times?

During this pandemic I am just trying to stay safe. My daily routine is usually getting up going to the park workout and trying to do whatever I can do with a basketball to not lose my skills. I think we should all practice social distancing right now still because it is safer and we all need to do our best to help everyone be safe.
